Artist Statement

I have been interested in the arts for a majority of my life, having started to take it to a more serious level in recent years. My artwork is currently a series of pieces centered on narratives; each piece telling a different story with the use of different characters. The stories all have a childish quality to them, much like children's books, except for the fact that the themes displayed are more mature. At first glance, my images seem to be easily readable, but the more you look into it the more you'll see. Once inspected closely, it creates other ideas and possibilities of what the piece could be trying to convey to the audience, making the viewer have to think a little more throughly.
